About
Hi, I’m Mackenzie! I am an artist, creative maker, and future art educator who has always found a sense of connection and joy through creating. Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it continues to be one of the ways I understand myself and the world around me.
I am a multidisciplinary artist who loves experimenting with different mediums and seeing where the creative process takes me. My interests include photography, painting, drawing, embroidery, ceramics, and working with different materials. I don’t like limiting myself to one type of art because I believe there is always something new to learn. I enjoy trying something I have never done before, making mistakes, and figuring out how I can turn an idea into something physical.
I also see myself as a lifelong learner. One of my favorite things about art is that it can be found almost anywhere. I love being able to look at something ordinary and recognize the creativity, beauty, story, or meaning within it. I believe that every material has the potential to become something meaningful when we are willing to experiment with it.
As I continue my journey toward becoming an art educator, I hope to bring this same curiosity into my future classroom. I want my students to feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and discovering their own creative voices. I believe there is no single “right” way to create art, and I want to encourage students to find the materials, ideas, and processes that feel meaningful to them.
My work is constantly changing as I continue to grow as an artist, learner, and educator. I am excited to keep exploring new mediums, learning from the people around me, and finding new ways to tell stories through art.
There is no wrong way to create!
